Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also referred to as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are used to transport things and materials around on wooden pallets using metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which can lift the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one person.
Pallet trucks must be operated carefully in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Machine must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to be able to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.
